It would also briefly cover the role of corneal biomechanics, IOP fluctuations, molecular factors and ischemia using different clinical examples. Head Glaucoma Department and Professor of Ophthalmology at Hospital Clínico de Madrid and Complutense University

José M Martínez-de-la-Casa holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid and a PhD in Medicine and Surgery from the same University. He is Head of the Glaucoma Department at the Hospital Clínico de Madrid, Professor of Ophthalmology at the Complutense University and Director of the Multidisciplinary Research Group of the Complutense University InnOftal.
Other highlights of his training include a stay at the Hamilton Glaucoma Center at the University of California San Diego and a Master in Medical and Clinical Management in 2011.
He is Secretary General of the Spanish Glaucoma Society and actively participates in the European and World Glaucoma Societies, having taken part in several consensus documents and guidelines on this pathology promoted by these Societies. He is a member of the European Union Relations Committee and the European Glaucoma Society's National Society Relations Committee.
During the last 10 years he has been principal investigator or co-investigator in almost all clinical trials related to minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. He is the author of more than 200 publications in indexed journals and has contributed to more than 30 ophthalmology textbooks. He has supervised 28 doctoral theses. He is a member of the editorial board or reviewer of 19 ophthalmology journals. He is editor of the journal Archivos de la Sociedad Española de Oftalmología and former editor of the Spanish Journal of Glaucoma.

Dr. Sushma Tejwani, MBBS, DOMS, Fellowship LVPEI, PhD. She is presently working as the consultant and head of Glaucoma Services at Narayana Nethralaya-2, Bangalore since July 2007. She has presented as faculty at more than 200 national and international meetings. She has more than 52 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has also written 6 book chapters. She has been a reviewer for IJO, Journal of glaucoma, Journal of Ophthalmology. She has received best paper, poster and video awards at GSI, AAO & AIOS multiple times; travel grants at ARVO & WGC; few named awards like IJO silver award, DB Chandra Disha award and Dr. Basheer Mekhri award. She has been part of many prestigious clinical trials as principal investigator. Her chief interests are Biomarkers in glaucoma, Pediatric glaucoma, imaging and MIGS surgeries.
