This presentation will review the current recommendations for the treatment of normal tension glaucoma, starting with medical treatment, both in terms of hypotensive drugs and others whose effects are independent of intraocular pressure control, laser and possible surgical options for the control of these patients.
This talk would highlight the importance of Non IOP related factors related to glaucomatous damage and its progression. It would describe the multi-dimensional pathology of Normal tension glaucoma including vascular, neurodegenerative factors. It would also briefly cover the role of corneal biomechanics, IOP fluctuations, molecular factors and ischemia using different clinical examples.
