Professor Paul Chew is an Academic staff in the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) since 1989.

He was appointed as the Head, Department of Ophthalmology, National University Hospital, NUHS in 2008 till 2010.

He is an editorial reviewer for numerous medical journals, Editor-in-Chief of the Asian Journal of Ophthalmology, and Editorial Board of Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology as “Glaucoma” Section Editor and has published more than 100 publications.

Professor Paul Chew’s specialty is in glaucoma surgery and research. He is the Director, Glaucoma Division in the Department of Ophthalmology, National University Hospital, NUHS. He has been principal investigator in numerous glaucoma clinical trials. He invented and commercialised the now globally available Glaucoma MP3 Therapy Laser. He also heads the glaucoma drainage implant research, which provides enhanced safety and success in the
treatment of severe glaucoma disease. These new implants were designed in NUH and are currently in an advanced state of manufacture.

Do Tan is a chief of glaucoma department in Vietnam national institute of ophthalmology, He works as sub-specialty consultant (glaucoma) and also general consultant, vitreo-retinal consultant; he is capable of using many kinds of laser: ALT, SLT, Laser peripheral iridotomy, trans-scleral cyclodestruction, Laser iridoplastyÖ and at the same time, being a competent surgeon with various types of surgery; experience of about 15 000 phacos, 3 000 trabeculectomies, nearly 1000 deep sclerectomies, 500 scleral buckling, 2000 vitrectomies for Malgnant Glaucoma, RD, endophthalmitis, familiar with every kind of phaco machines: from simplest to very modern ones like: Millennium, Infinity, Sovereign, Centurion; vitrectomy machines: Nidek, Accurus,Constellation. Being an expert in using quick-chop technique for hard and very hard cataracts and in doing Endoscopy assisted vitrectomy for malignant glaucoma, intraocular infection and retinal detachment. In addition, he is also a enthusiatic researcher and is spending a lot of time involving in some regional and international studies as TVT Asia, QPI 1007, Genetics in glaucoma. He contributed as main authors and co-authors in some highly cited publications on Journal of Glaucoma, Clinical Ophthalmology, JAMA Ophhthalmology and Nature Genetics.

Associate Professor Joseph Anthony Tumbocon is a glaucoma specialist practicing in St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) Global City and Quezon City, Philippines. He is a past president of the Philippine Glaucoma Society; trustee of the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology; assistant head for undergraduate education in SLMC Quezon City; associate professor and assistant dean for clinical sciences in SLMC College of Medicine. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines, and completed his ophthalmology residency training in the same institution. He underwent further training as a clinical fellow in glaucoma at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston, USA from 2000 to 2001; and completed another year of clinical fellowship in the cornea at the University of Toronto, Canada in 2002.
